Product Description:

Cocoa app that creates a disk image that can be used to burn a Mac OS X boot CD that has a working Finder and Dock on it. This utility is unfinished and still has some flaws, but works. The current version works much better than previous versions, and includes the ability to run Drive10 or other disk utilities.

What's new in this version:

  • Added auto-login capability - logging in is no longer necessary
  • Added Italian localization by Riccardo Ghiglianovich
  • Fixed a bug which could cause the boot script to crash during startup
  • Fixed a bug which could cause disks not to appear on the Desktop
  • Fixed a bug which could cause applications to appear as folders in the Dock
  • The log files are no longer copied to the RAM disk, resulting in less clutter

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.2 through 10.2.8
  • BSD subsystem installed (default OS X installation satisfies this condition)

CharlesSoft stopped working on BootCD 2 years ago, it will not be updated. Considering it was donationware, you really can't complain.

10.3 is to old and not useful or up-to-date. Skip making a version work with 10.3 and get up to date with one that will work with 10.5.2 which will be out soon.

We are on the doorstep of Leopard 10.5.
And this only works on 10.3<

kind of like MS coming out with a tool only working on Windows ME
