GameRanger provides a completely customized Macintosh-friendly environment for players to meet worthy opponents, organize and play games, discuss strategies, and exchange tricks and ideas. Persistent player accounts, profiles, chat rooms, game rooms, audio voice chat, paging, server lists and powerful filtering are just a handful of the features GameRanger offers.

What's new in this version:

Added support for multiple players behind a single internet connection joining the same external game host
Added a special firewall-mode to prevent outside users joining some games (eg. Prey)
Age of Mythology now works with more than two players with the new network system
Improved layout of Games tab of Preferences
Finally worked around OS issues with automatically detecting games
Fixed a rare bug with rejoining the same game without leaving the room

I've been using Game Ranger for several years now and it works as advertised. Buying Gold or Silver service adds a lot to the games it supports such as voice. Evill (the developer) isn't as responsive as he could be but he does aggressively work issues and resolve them in a timely manner (with one exception).

All in all, this is a great program for mac.

When starting game in leopard it displays out of sync

The developer trolls the chat rooms as user "evill" looking for people to argue with, 1v1 with, etc. then ban them when they do not kiss his butt. Avoid GameRanger and then man-child developer.
