Internet Reconnector - 2.10

Most users don't reasize how often their internet connection is interupted. When the disconnect last longer than say, 10 or 20 secs., then they may notice. But how often are you in front of your computer watching an acur or spinning beachball or a page that seems to be loading slowly for no particular reason at all. Sometimes your connection is on and off and on and off and on and off — and you just don't know it! Before using Internet Reconnector I was getting intermittant connection, sometimes fast, sometimes slower, sometimes just plain stuck or disconnected. My cable connection tested at 2.2 megabits per second, storing 210.5 kilobytes per second, and a 1MB file download took 3.2 seconds on average. Since using Internet Reconnector however, I am getting consistant results of about 3.9 megabits per second, storing 477.2 kilobytes per second, and 1MB file downloads take only 2.1 seconds. So, I guess it works for me!

Go to System preferences. Point at "network" and CLICK. Show internal modem. Point to PPP Options, click.

1. Uncheck "disconnect if idel for ___ minutes"
2. Check "connect automatically when needed"
3. Click "OK", then click "Apply Now".

Option 5 would be to get broadband, if you've got the bucks and it's available; but if you're checking this app out, you probably are stuck with dial-up like me, so good luck!
