Have the same problem. Every month I have to enter all of my 12 mail accounts with all settings. I was glad since today. I reported this problem to the author, no answer. I will change to another mail app now...

The preferences corrupt - Version: 2.1.1, 8/7/2004 03:08AM PST

I bought a copy and the preferences periodically is corrupted so that I must put in all the account information and the serial number again, each time the preferences gets corrupted, which comes out to be about once a month.
I started making a backup copy of the "preferences" file for Mail Beacon just for that purpose.
It also will not let me make a "hotmail" account since it forbids me saving the settings unless I tell it which port to check mail on. I get around this by first saving the hotmail account as a regular "POP" account, then go back and change it to a "hotmail" account.
Other than that, it is a very nice app., even if buggy.
Solid as a rock...

Or even better: stable and save as a lighthouse. Used it for over a year now and never had any problem with the app under any OS I used up to 10.3.3 now. Besides Beacon is very quick, clean and very easy to setup and use and does the job flawlessly. Can't think of any program I use(d) containing all these qualities.
Applaus.
