Product Description:

Excalibur is a Macintosh spelling checker. It will spell check documents created by any text editor. It will also spell check the clipboard, making it a useful spelling checker for other text based programs. It will also work with any word processing program that supports Word Services which has been largely abandoned.

What's new in this version:

  • The minipage environment is now processed properly. It has three optional arguments and 1 required. Excalibur will ignore them all.
  • When doing text to dictionary conversions, Excalibur calculates the number of words it should process before updating the progress bar. There was a bug when doing this for fewer than 25 words which caused a crash on Intel machines. It is now fixed.
  • Suggestions always have the same capitalization as the misspelled words.

I have no idea what the problem with the version 403 .dmg was, but I tried downloading the .dmg several time on the chance that my system (OS X 10.4.9) might be at fault, but no joy.

404 worked fine, but it was a zip file.

Just download and it mounts perfectly for me. Probably the author done with the fixing.

The disk image will not open for me. Double clicking the icon or attempting to open the file with Disk Utility does not work. I mailed a report to Rick Zaccone with all (I hope) relevant system info.
