No response from developer - Version: 2.3.1, 10/20/2005 08:49PM PST

I e-mailed the developer two times asking when version 3 would come out, but no answer. The Ittec website for many months that version 3 will be out very soon, but nothing happens. Yes, undoubtedly users are losing patience.

Grabbing the tigers tail... - Version: 2.3.1, 8/4/2005 04:15PM PST

Doesn't seem to work with Tiger - On the developers
site it says they are working on an update but it's
going to be a complete version number change from
2.3.1 to 3.0. Does this mean that registered users will
have to pay an upgrade fee before they can use this app
again - seems a little harsh on users to jump several
versions in order to 'fleece' those already converted rather
than concentrating of finding new users through new
features.

SLOW TO REACT TO TIGER - Version: 2.3.1, 6/5/2005 10:31AM PST

This was a good little utility but the developer has been very slow in updating for Tiger. Losing users and they will be difficult to get back.

Five Stars, Joe Bob Says Check It Out

No problems in any way, in use since Jaguar. Plays nice with haxies - and for god's sake, automatic contextual menus on click-and-hold? You are working without this?

Indispensable for me - Version: 2.3, 5/18/2004 02:21AM PST

I have been using Ittec since version 1.5 and it never removed any existing contextual menu items, such as for creating a new folder, as it apparently did for Gladmax411. I can't imagine not having the Ittec menus available, they have become indispensable to me. I already gave five stars to version 1.5.3 and Ittec has become better and better since.
One small but annoying problem that is still in this version 2.3: When selecting Ittec to automatically load at login, all other login items are removed and have to be added again.

Rating Ittec: D+

My review is mixed, because Ittec seems to remove certain contextual menu option that were native in OS X, before I installed Ittec, when using a 2-button Logitech mouse with their software driver (although I didn't need the driver to get contextual menus). One feature I really missed was the ability to create a folder by right-clicking and choosing the option. Also, I had hoped the Ittec developers would recreate features once found in the venerable FinderPop, such as emptying the trash can immediately. I have sent a couple of emails to the developer, with no result. Have they abandoned it? I can't give it a very good rating for the lack of response from the developers, and the problems with other software mentioned previously.
Doesn't play nice with Konfabulator, other menubar icons - Version: 2.2.1, 5/6/2004 08:33AM PST
Gladmax411
I've had trouble getting the Konfabulator gear icon to appear in the menu bar of my iBook (G3-900mHz, 512MB RAM, Panther X.3.3, APE installed). It seemed to be fighting with St. Clair Software's Default Folder X icon. I emailed Arlo Rose asking for help, and he reported otehr Konfabulator users having trouble with Ittec. He said he emailed Ittec's developers, but no response. I request that the Ittec developers look into this issu and cooperate with other third-party developers (Unsanity, St. Clair Software, Arlo Rose) to make sure all of these apps play nice with each other.
