Welcome to QuickTime 6, featuring MPEG-4, the next-generation of the most advanced digital media technology on the Internet. This latest release of Apple's cutting-edge digital media software for both Mac and Windows-based computers delivers unparalleled quality for creating, playing and streaming audio and video content over the Internet. The free QuickTime Player allows you to play back content of dozens of formats from thousands of sources. QuickTime Pro gives you the ability to create and edit your own multimedia, as well as to save movies and to play back movies in full screen mode. QuickTime 6 will replace older versions of QuickTime. A QuickTime 6 Pro key is required to unlock Pro functionality in QuickTime 6. If you wish to use a QuickTime 4 or 5 Pro key, you need to run an older version of QuickTime for Pro features.

What's new in this version:

3GPP Support
QuickTime 6.4 now integrates extensive support for 3GPP, including video, audio, text, and native .3gp file format support. Because 3GPP is now a part of the core architecture of QuickTime, you can import, export, and play back .3gp files just as you do .mp4 and .mov files. The technologies in QuickTime 6.4 that provide these capabilities are enhanced MPEG-4 and H.263 video codecs, a newly enhanced AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) audio codec, an AMR (Adaptive Multi-Rate) audio codec, a 3G Text importer and exporter, and a user-friendly 3GPP export dialog to aid in the creation of 3GPP-compliant files. Performance Improvements
QuickTime 6.4 delivers a host of performance enhancements. For Mac OS X users, you'll find DV encoding and decoding improvements, providing greater efficiency throughout the DV workflow for users of Final Cut Pro, iMovie and other QuickTime-based applications. QuickTime 6.4 also provides improved playback of both SD and HD streams.
Pixlet
