KoalaCalc ReviewWorks Perfectly For Me - Version: 4.3.1, 5/9/2009 11:38AM PST

I have been looking for and testing every calculator I could find. I almost purchased PCalc, but searched one more just for the heck of it. AM I HAPPY I DID! KoalaCalc is the best I have found, and it is FREE. But, if you like it, consider sending them a donation from the link on their site. I think they deserve something for providing a great application.

KoalaCalc ReviewUnzips generic document instead of application - Version: 4.3.1, 4/10/2007 06:58PM PST

Downloaded and unzipped successfully twice. Both times it makes a generic document of 1.1 MB instead of an application. System cannot open it: "Choose an application to open Koalacalc".

...this calculator is.

I used this calculator due to two cool functions:
- it can be used by keyboard, not necessarily mouse
- it has a "history" of calculations where you can see different steps and what you entered (it would be cool if you could edit individual steps/typos right there in the history)

I deployed this calculator again because, THIS CALCULATOR DOES NOT KNOW THE "POINT BEFORE STROKE" RULE, i.e. if you type 2 * 5 + 2 * 10 it will calculate 2 * 5 + 2 = 12 * 10 = 120...

If I am just too stupid to use this, I'm sorry. Otherwise don't trust this one!!!

I really have no complaints for this. Apple's joke of a calculator is...well...a joke of a calculator. I would like to see this as a widget, is my only suggestion.

Been using this one for a long time. I travel a lot and make heavy use of the currency conversion. Lately it's been hard to get conversion updates. Today I find a fix.

It's perfect again ...

KoalaCalc ReviewA must have utility - without a doubt - Version: 4.2.1, 2/7/2005 01:30PM PST

How Apple have the 'neck' to bundle something they call a calculator with OSX that doesn't even have a percent function is a joke.

Download this, and throw Apples' thing in the trash. This is a really elegant product.
And Macropod are giving it us for free. Nice people.

KoalaCalc ReviewReally a great product - Version: 4.0.3, 9/18/2004 06:44PM PST

This calculator is so well done that I no longer keep an actual calculator near my computer as I have done for years. It is nice not to have the extra clutter of a physical calculator, and KoalaCalc is actually more fun to use. Plus it has all the scientific add-ons that I regularly use. Plus, I don't recall ever having a calculator that will add, subtract, mutitple and divide fractions for me and give the result as a reduced fraction. The only small mistake I've seen is the previously referenced approximation to tan 90 rather than just reporting it as undefined. Strange that the atan(tan(90))= -90, for example.
