Still not working... - Version: 1.7, 7/15/2008 09:31AM PST

I've tried downloading Ver 1.8, but get error messages when I try unzipping it. So I'm stuck with Caminicon 1.7, which does not work on Camino 1.6.

As of today's release of Camino 1.6, CaminIcon no longer functions to install alternative icons/themes.
It's too bad... the default stuff is so hideous that I simply can't look at them!
It's really too bad the developer longer wants to support this app; then again, it was freeware, so we can't complain THAT much!

after getting the previously reported error message a few times, I rebooted, and now everything works perfectly.
problems on MBP - Version: 1.6, 3/18/2006 02:34PM PST

get the following message when trying to apply new theme:
"Finder got an error: Handler can't handle objects of this class. (-10010)"
When I transferred everything to the MBP, Camino maintained the new theme I had installed with CaminIcon on my old Powerbook... So at least I can still use the previous theme, just not install a new one.

Once again you came through for me.I understand now that installation of the graphics is so rapid that a progress bar is not necessary.Great app and great developer.

The themes all work but the bar no longer shows so that you no longer know if the theme has finished loading into Camino and the install button stays flashing.

For example, the bundled Pinstripe theme's reload and stop button images were not detected by CaminIcon until I renamed them with the extra "f".
reload.tif
reload.tiff
stop.tif
stop.tiff
How to fix: Go into ~/Library/Application Support/CaminIcon/Themes/, and rename all .tif images to .tiff.
If you're comfortable with regular expressions and sed, you can perform this in Terminal.app.
