to print Apple's article # 106882, available here http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106882 BEFORE putting suspicious CDs inside an iMac. Little hint: Before using a suspicious CD, check if there's the little logo saying: "compact disc digital audio" -Philips owns the rights for CDs and declared that those with the logo can't (legally) be copyright-protected.
Nice idea. However,… - Version: 1.1, 2/27/2003 01:55AM PST

in most cases my CDs stick right after they're unmounted, so this tool is no help to me. Unless some genius is able to fix *that* problem, I'll have to stick to logging out or rebooting, since the G4 Cube doesn't have a force eject hole... :(
Though I acknowledge…

the usefulness of this utility in ejecting stubborn CDs, a utility's effectiveness should also be judged on whether its use will maintain the integrity of the system--and not annilihate it--in the event of a relatively minor user error. I had two identical images in the Finder: one was a mounted disc image, the other a volume. I used this utility to eject what I thought was the stubborn CD, but in fact it was the mounted disc image. After the initial eject attempt, the utility returned a dialog box suggesting the implementation of a script which required a user password. Little did I realize that hitting 'ok' would result in a thorough and effective destruction of my OS X install, not to mention substantial drive errors discovered later. Three of my five volumes and most all of the dock icons simply disppeared, applications failed to launch, symbolic links were destroyed, and an array of erratic System behavior ensued. This utility completely annilihated my OS 10.2 installation, and I would urge the developer to consider making a minor change to prevent this type of reasonable mistake from destroying someone else's System. I suppose you could say that the recent choice of a tank as the utility's icon is quite fitting, but not altogether humorous.
