MegaPEG Pro SD QT CommentaryExtremely Confusing - Version: 3.1.5, 12/17/2005 09:42AM PST

Truth w Christ
MegaPEG.X Pro SD QT (name shown!) seemed cool, and stated $99. I went to developers site to download/purchase, and was hit with so many products - NONE of which had the advertised name, or price?? I searched the links to only be more confused.

The ability to export a FCP timeline to a ready to burn/compressed mpeg1/2 format was cool! Unfortunately - except for the version tracker listing, the MegaPEG Pro SD QT could not be found at all???

MegaPEG Pro SD QT CommentaryHighly configurable! - Version: 2.0, 11/20/2004 08:33AM PST

So many options make this encoder very exciting if you like sqeezing as much as possible on to DVDrs.

However this encoder never breaks 28:1 so it is unusable.
This is the Velocity engine - Altivec optimized version right? Thats what it says.
I'm using a 733mhz g4 with plenty of hd space and ram.

Next problem: the result is unwatchable - I'm not joking. You cant even make out peoples faces.

or on another test encode:

it is crisp and clear but everything zooms by at about 4x normal speed. wtf?

these were using default settings.

okay iron out the bugs and I'll take another look

inexpensive for a commercial MPEG2 encoder. Try to find one for a lower price.
