Product Description:

My Money Minder allows you to easily keep track of all your expenses, income and bank account balances. All your data can be quickly viewed in either a spreadsheet-style grid or as a Line, Bar, Pie or Area graph.

Whether you already have existing personal finance data stored electronically or just beginning, My Money Minder can get you going quickly. Once you have entered your tax rate (so your Sales Tax, GST or VAT can be calculated automatically) and start of financial year into the Preferences new entries are entered via a single dialog. To make entering data faster My Money Minder remembers the last 100 unique items you have typed into the name field and these can be selected from an autocomplete list.

So you can easily summarize your finances, entries are organised into an unlimited number of user defined Categories (e.g Pay, Rent, Groceries) which are further organised into Groups (e.g Home, Work, Holidays). Methods of payment, such as Cash, Credit Card or Cheque can also be tracked.

If you already have your data in Quicken (QIF), QFX, OFX, OFC (MS Money), CSV or TSV formats you can quickly import these into My Money Minder (4500 entries takes just over a minute on a G3 iMac). You can also export your data (all or you can select a date range) to any of the above formats.

What's new in this version:

Features:
  • can import categories from csv/tsv files
  • can specify date format for csv/tsv files
  • importing "knows" about encoding of files
Bug Fixes:
  • csv files import amounts which use the "," for the decimal operator
  • csv/tsv files now created with negative values for expenses
  • imported My Money Minder file rows have the correct icon
  • Confirming Scheduled Items no longer gives an error on startup
  • My Money grid is properly populated before Confirming Scheduled Items
  • csv/tsv files now created with negative values for expenses
  • Delete toolbar caption and Today button on Calendar are localised correctly

My Money Minder ReviewCould be better... - Version: 1.9.6, 7/6/2007 06:58AM PST

svaught
My Money Minder could be better. It's got real potential, however, it's not very flexible with inabilities such as renaming groups easily. Importing is a bit confusing. Also, some selection issues. I couldn't deselect some items and select others. A little weird. I'm not a genious, so I'm looking elsewhere. Go'onuhed'now give it a try. It may work better for someone.

I tested this program by importing banking account information from QIF files. The programs opened the files without any problems. Very easy to use.
