Product Description:

Fluid is a realtime fluid-dynamics model and rendering engine that uses OpenGL to create the effect of flowing liquid on your screen.
Each launch of Fluid brings a completely new experience and never-before-seen images based on settings that you control. You can change colors, rendering styles, resolution, and many more options via the preferences sheet.
Fluid is donation-ware. If you continue to use it please pay for it, though we aren't going to force you. It takes time to program things like Fluid for OS X and the only way people are going to continue to do it is if they are supported.

What's new in this version:

  • Added French localization for the Fluid interface!
  • Small speed enhancements were added. Around 5%-13%. Mileage may vary.
  • Fixed render bug on some laptop models. It is possible that the bug may still exist on other models but we don't have every type of laptop to test on so we cannot promise 100% yet.
  • The background color for second monitors (if Fluid display is turned off on that monitor) now uses the background color that the user has selected (no alpha support yet). Before it was always black.
  • Added keyboard controls: "F" displays the current framerate in frames per second; "->" resets Fluid immediately; "T" displays the name of the current Fluid Theme
  • All text in Fluid (including the above) now renders in the same style as the OS X Dock does, with fancy shadows and all.
  • Streaklines and vectors are now antialiased when rendered (if supported by hardware).
  • Vectors now have a glow when they overlap each other and their tails are a bit longer than they used to be.
  • Removed FFTW math library option because we originally misunderstood the license to be LGPL instead of GPL. I'm not quite sure if G3 owners are going to be able to use Fluid now, though. If you are using a G3 with Fluid 2.1 let us know (or if it doesn't work, you can also let us know).

Fluid Troubleshooting ReportBackground not showing - Version: 2.6, 1/21/2004 02:05PM PST

Boondoggle
I'm not seeing the background image when the saver is deployed. I see it when useing the "test" button in the pref pane, but when I close out Sys prefs and start Fluid I just get the fluid effects over black.... Very dissapointing as the test shots are COOL.

Fluid ReviewNot For Me, It Didn't - Version: 2.6, 1/21/2004 01:42PM PST

I installed this thing per directions on my G4 under OSX 10.2.3 and had a complete system lockup twice when I tried to select it in the Preferences Pane.
I mean a hard restart was required. It may work for you . . . I round-filed it.
