Product Description:

Address Book Exporter is a little utility that does one thing, and one thing only: it will let you export your Mac OS X Address Book as a tab-delimited plain text file. Apple doesn't include this feature in its application, though you may want to have it to create mailing lists, upload address books to webmail servers, or whatever...

What's new in this version:

  • Added Outlook export template.
  • Updated Palm Desktop template to make it match Palm Desktop 4's format.
  • Added "Other" field export for Address, Email and Phone.
  • Added a Check for Updates... feature (manual or automatic).
  • Added optional textured windows support. There is no GUI yet for this feature. You will have to type defaults write net.gwenhiver.AddressBookExporter ABEHasTexturedWindows -bool YES in the Terminal to enable it.
  • Added Italian localization.
  • Added German localization.

Address Book Exporter Usage TipWorked perfect for me - Version: 2.1.2, 12/23/2007 12:29PM PST

lisairis
I have Mac OS X Tiger, exported from Mac Mail, imported to Palm (I find Palm an all-around more flexible and easy program with more useable features than Mac).

When I imported, I chose "All Documents", and found the exported file. Then it gave me two pull-down menu choices: Fields: where I chose "Addresses" then "Delimiters" where I chose "Palm". I saw that all info in "Fields In User Data matched Data In Exported Addresses".

I clicked forward a couple of records to see that my info was being imported, and it was. When I clicked OK, it fell in place perfectly.

Address Book Exporter ReviewGreat Program - Version: 2.1.2, 9/5/2007 10:00AM PST

This program works like a charm and I was amazed at how easily it works. If you contact book has more than one category, it provides you with options on which one to select. You can add or remove files to be included in the export. It does everything that you would expect and does it well. Great job and thanx for the free application.

Address Book Exporter ReviewNot Usable - Version: 2.1.2, 6/27/2007 11:19AM PST

I'm using this with Tiger and the most recent updates of all the involved software. The output of Address Book Exporter is unusable. Spacing between data appears random. The order of each address book entry is no longer in any sensible order.

To use the exported data would require extensive cutting and pasting, a complete waste of time.
