Can this work with Apple Mail? - Version: 1.10, 7/12/2004 09:26PM PST

Does this script work with Apple Mail 1.3.8 in Panther 10.3.4? Or does someone know of a script for Apple Mail to do similar to Friendlier Claris It? I tried Friendlier Claris It and it's great, but I use Apple Mail and not Entourage.
Thanks
Thanks

I just needed to put in my two cents and say that Friendlier Claris It! is by far the most useful utility I have ever used. I have ALL of my email for the past 5 years (29000 messages+) and I used to have hundereds of custom email rules setup in Entourage, in order to sort all of my mail into a gazillion different subfolders. I now have 5, and one of them is just the one that calls this great script! Ever since I found this script a few years ago, I've been using it to organize my Inbox & Sent Items folders, as well as having it automatically strip off ALL attachments (which it neatly organizes on my hard drive. Doing this last bit has enabled me to keep the size of my Entourage database under 1 GB in size! I really can't say enough about this great software, and I've just about guilted myself into making a nice donation to Rob. :) So Rob... how about a version for Mail?
I've had lots of requests to do a Mail version of Friendlier Claris It! Unfortunately (and ironically), Apple's AppleScript dictionaries for Mail and Address Book are very poor in comparison to Entourage's (yes, Microsoft do AppleScript better than Apple). Address Book also lacks a lot of Entourage's PIM information. So any version of FCI that I produced would have far fewer features and be far slower, unfortunately.
To give you an idea of the slowness FCI would have, the nearest equivalent I know of for Mail (which can be found at http://www.thirtyone.com/applescript/movetonamedfolders/ ) actually requires a download of a Progress Indicator bar AppleScript addition so you can tell how far the script has progressed. That's doing far fewer things than FCI, too. So until Apple makes improving AppleScript in Mail and Address Book a priority (which, judging by the pre-release of Tiger, it isn't), I can't even think about doing a port, I'm afraid. Sorry, everyone!
