This is a shame too. I have a really great Macally Joystick I haven't been able to use since OS 9.x and I'd love to use this, BUT the danger is just too damn high with NO DETAILS or uninstaller from the lame developers Zack and Zack (is THAT believable???)

More details and a REAL installer / uninstaller, or you've really wasted YOUR time and anyone dumb enough to install it.

HID Wizard ReviewDon't bother until developer wises up. - Version: 1.0, 3/27/2007 06:17PM PST

I agree with dogger here. This appears to be another useful item for those of us with joystick issues. If you have a mac and a joystick, this means you. The product description contains absolutely no useful information. Letting everyone know that this will ONLY work for their other software will save many people many headaches. I can guarantee that anyone who misses these reviews and downloads/installs this only to find out afterward that it's useless won't ever bother with that developer again. Failing to mention the most pertinent aspect of the software in the description is beyond unprofessional, it's the snake-oil approach. As far as risking possible system problems because you don't know where anything is getting installed, you SHOULD have Pacifist. If you don't have it...GET IT. http://www.charlessoft.com/ You can open any installer package (including MacOS installers) and see exactly where everything is going to go, or use pacifist itself to install any/all pieces anywhere.

HID Wizard CommentaryNot enough information for me to be comfortable installing - Version: 1.0, 3/18/2007 11:11PM PST

You have provided an app here with a .pkg-based installer (meaning it probably messes with the contents of my System folder), and you have given no indication in the Read Me or anywhere else of exactly what it is putting where, and how I should go about uninstalling it.

As as result, I think anyone would be an idiot to install this software. Not that the developer is malicious, but is something called 'HID Wizard' really worth risking putting your system into a possibly buggy state that you have no idea how to recover it from?

zSculpt has broken the cardinal rule -- until they do it better, their code will not grace my CPU.

Also, what is completely not obvious from the blurb above is that this software ONLY works with games that were compiled WITH HID Wizard (i.e. it is not a general gamepad solution like USB Overdrive or Gamepad Companion). The developers only list their own games as compatible, but we should be told upfront about this qualification (before the download, please), and it would really help make the decision if this is worth anything if there were a list of compatible games. I'm sure the HID Wizard developers probably know who are the major game designers who are incorporating their tools at compile-time, so this does not seem an unreasonable request!
