I tested each link checker I found in VersionTracker and this one is the best. It not only checks for broken links, it also validates pages for HTML 4.01. Although it only does the Framework document type and I use Strict, it still helps find things that the W3C HTML validator misses. Other much more expensive apps are not as easy to use or as fast. I especially liked that the results can be saved in several formats and the report doesn't slow my whole system down just trying to bring up the HTML of the report in Firefox. The Firefox plug-in is nice but it only does one page at a time and doesn't let you save the results to work with later. WebLight does an entire site. You can save the results to recheck fixes, or clear the whole thing and recheck the site (I prefer that method because some fixes my affect many results). Support is also responsive and helpful.

I prefer to use a FREE extension for firefox that does seemingly what they want $25 for.

WebLight does it's job very well. You can see any link and html issues. Fix them and check again until you get a perfect site.
It was made in Java and its behavior is not actually 100% as native Mac applications. Anyway, it is the only one with a such power.
I highly recommend it.

Sorry, but you don't know what you're talking about Dreamweaver only does LOCAL sites. This does remote sites as well. So with DW you can check sites that you entirely built yourself and have stored entirely on your own hard drive, but what about when a client simply wants their site checked? what about if the site is served from a database? What then.
I haven't tried this yet (about to compare with Link Checker) but I have Dreamweaver MX 2004 and it doesn't do what I need.

not shareware. Unable to evaluate the product with a site which has more than 24 links. Based on the user interface and installation procedure alone, this product gets a 2.
