If you're running this version of ThinkFree Office in Mac OS 10.4.X, don't automatically install the JavaMacOS10.4Release 6 update. It appears that something in this update prevents ThinkFree from completely opening so all you get is one pull down menu with the Preferences, etc. Have reported problem to ThinkFree Support on 14 Dec 07, but have gotten no response so far. It does not appear that you can uninstall the Java update if you install it, nor can you re-install Java Release 5.

I have a version that's several years old. It's slow, and quite often it won't open a Microsoft Office document, which is why I bought it. I'm willing to assume that the new product is much better than mine, but there's no discernible upgrade pathway from a prior version, and there is absolutely no way to contact anyone at the parent company, by email or telephone, even if you're willing to pay for the privilege. With just a touch of effort by this company, which another $10 added to the purchase price would probably fund, this could probably be twice the product it is.
I've "recommeneded" ThinkFree Office because of its price, and I still may buy it to try out the new version, but it's like ordering something at a post office office box number off a TV add. Their effort to avoid you is obvious.

I am using Thinkfree from time to time since many months now - together with Pages and NeoOffice. This version opens and works much faster than the previous ones on my G3 ibook 600 and therefore this is really an alternative now. It seems that the developers made much more efforts on it than in the past. If you are looking for an easy and intuitive to use textapp I would recommend this.
