reliable client performance under OSX: I find that under OS 10.1.5 through 10.2.3 the Scheduler client will quit. I'm lucky if I can get a full 2-night cycle completed. If I run the daemon, it sucks up 80% of my processor cycles, and still doesn't seem to improve the reliability of the clien to stay with the server. Under MacOS 9, the will clients run for months without a problem. Anybody else run into this issue under OSX ?

good. Requiring someone to remain logged for a backup to occur, really bad. Having to tweak settings for faster machines is absurd (this from the readme). Having to enter the admin password, also bad. Our users should not be required to be an admin to run the software. Requires you to be an admin to install. Unless they have changed something since the last beta, it still installs its preferences in /System/Library/PreferencePanes/ Their lack of attention to details astounds me. This will not create a bootable backup, but it does backup files with long names in this version which is better than the last one. Maybe by 2010 we can had a daemon to it so you do not have to be logged in.
The recent "opener" script looks for a preference file created by this software in which your password is stored. This is incredibly irresponsible on the part of the developer. Apple offers free and complete information on how this software could make use of the keychain to store the password in a secure manner.
See the "opener" script for a list of dozens of other software products that also store passwords outside the keychain - many in clear text. WAKE UP DEVELOPERS!
