Product Description:

Using no additional hardware, you can produce sine, square, triangle, and sawtooth waveforms of any frequency up to 22 kHz, as well as generate noise. You can generate up to 13 different waveforms. Each waveform can be routed to either the left or right channel, or to both. The amplitude of each waveform may be adjusted, as well as the volume on each channel, which is a mix of any waveforms routed to that channel.

In addition, there is a sweep generator.

Audio Toolbox is useful both for testing audio/radio equipment, and for producing sound effects, as well as for tuning musical instruments.

Audio Toolbox X ReviewNice function but clunky interface - Version: 1.8, 1/30/2007 08:07AM PST

This is what I was looking for -- a simple AF generator -- *but* has a very beta (or freeware) feel. Most of all, the lack of sliders for the frequency and oscilloscope controls is very frustrating, and unusual for a Mac. It is not an OS X-level application, and the $20 price tag is unreasonable. Documentation is poor.

They can TEST gear that can. Try thinking 3-Dimensionally. If I need to test a piece of gear that supposedly is flat up to 20kHz....what the hell am I gonna test with? The further below 20Hz and above 20Khz a device can reproduce flat responses, the flatter IN the audible range it will work. Theoretically.
But you are correct in the hearing range but it is actually more like 16kHz.

I also think BMXRACER was being a bit facetious....you don't honestly think he was serious? I thought it was funny actually cause he can't be....try on the humor hat once in a while...a whole new world opens up.

Humans can't hear above 20kHz. Most people can't even hear above 18kHz.
