Product Description:

This application is for Amazon Associates who are interested in using the power of Amazon's new Web Services to gather information about products available on Amazon.com for the purposes of creating ads on web sites. Searches 14 product categories and more than 25 types of information about products. Has Sherlock integration and two AppleScripts for BBEdit integration. Saves session search history. Returns both "lite" and "heavy" XML. Download product images and saves text data, including auto-generated HTML text and image ads, to a file. Allows viewing of XML Source. Send searches to IMDb and Google. Requires an Amazon Developer's Token and the XML Tools scripting addition. This beta will expire on October 31, 2002.

What's new in this version:

Added the capability of returning up to 30 items on a search. NOTE: On a heavy XML search, more than 10 items can take a long time to download and parse all the data.
Added more potential bits of information from each product.
Included at the end of the production information is auto-generated HTML for a text ad and an image ad using the thumbnail.

that it would not do searches without the developer's token and the requirement of an Affiliate ID was a vestige of a plan to shareware this app. But, I just decided I didn't want the headache. It turns out you can just enter anything into the two dialogs and it will work fine as a search tool for Amazon. products. Just goes to show you.

"Enter your Affiliate program ID", just enter an asterk a couple of times. It worked for me. Also the algrothimn for decoding the keys is easily found in the contents on the package using a simple text editor.
