Apple CHUD Tools ReviewWon't Install - Version: 4.6, 3/8/2007 01:02PM PST

Insists that I have no valid drive to install to. They all have the red exclamation points. It tells me to uninstall 4.4.3-5 and the install 4.4.4 -- which doesn't work either. I'm back at 4.4.3-5

Uncle Asad
CHUD 4.4.2 requires Mac OS X 10.4, not 10.3 as VT states above.

I've been using this for over year now to quite my G5 but Apple never lists any reason to upgrade from the last version. Anyone know why it was updated?

Apple CHUD Tools CommentaryWow actually does solve chirping problem - Version: 4.2.3, 11/7/2005 02:00PM PST

I'm not a big fan of messing with the brain of my dual 2.5 G5 but I use it for audio work and the chirping I could hear at higher amp levels was terrible... disabling nap fixes it totally. You can hear it happen - uncheck the box, chirping stops instantly.

Somewhere in the deep recesses of the Apple developer section is a fan of Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers. Since a lot of easter eggs and Apple in-jokes have been taken out of the code where they once lived they have to go somewhere.

Plus it is a good set of tools for developers.

Apple CHUD Tools CommentaryCPU pref Nap Mode - Version: 4.2.2, 9/21/2005 04:15PM PST

The CPU nap mode is great to get my G4 to run cooler and quieter, however I am still using the version in Chud 3.5.2 with Tiger 10.4.2 as it ceased to work in all Chud versions after that. The panel installs ok but the nap feature does not show.

Apple CHUD Tools ReviewOnly solution for PM G5 noise - Version: 4.1.0, 5/4/2005 04:23AM PST

I am one of the dozens effected by the pulsating, chirping and whining noise problems with G5 Powermacs... You can't live with it as it drives you mad (unless you have some klicpse speakers booming 24/7, thou the chrips are transmitted through the speakers, and the neighbours do complain) I even did Apple's power-supply exchanged programme... though it did 'remove' some of the noises (under 10.3) Yet all returned with Tiger 10.4! Damn it Apple! So im back to the tried and trust worthy chud tools 'disable nap' routine... I give chud tools 5 stars for the 'noise issues' I cant say anything else for I only use it for the 'disable nap' feature
