Product Description:

If you upload and download binary files to and from newsgroups you can use this to generate a set of PAR files. If you miss one or more of the binary files when downloading, the PAR files can be used to restore the missing files. Furthermore, if the file set contains a RAR archive, the program automatically unpacks it; other file types, like stuffit files, are automatically forwared to the appropriate program. The program cooperates with Loek Jehee's Split&Concat 1.5 to automatically join downloaded segments.

What's new in this version:

Solved some problems and added a few requested features.

Par2 now deals correctly with filenames containing non-ASCII characters. The program used to crash or behave strangely when it encountered such files.
Par2 files that contain no recovery blocks for the current job are now ignored.
A par2 run that only requires renaming files (no actual repair) runs faster now.
Solved a number of "internal error" issues. Furthermore, when such an error occurs the program now tries to create an error report file that can be mailed to the author to help solve the problem.
Restored the feature to unrar files with ".001", ".002" etc. extensions.
When running multiple unrar jobs in batch mode, only the resulting file of the last one to finish would show up in the Finder. This behavior has been improved: now all resulting files show up in the Finder after the last one has finished.
The program now requires OSX 10.2 or higher, and is no longer supported on OSX 10.1 (it might still work, though).

A great programme to be sure -- But the nagging (A donation isn't compulsory, Gerard, it's given of ones own free will) and the jumping out of the Dock bit when it is finished finally forced me to delete it.

If I need to join files I just open up Parallels and use a less nagging application to accomplish the task.

And Gerard -- Since it isn't actually a donation you are seeking, but a compulsory financial tribute, you ought to seriously consider a little truth in advertising in your nags.

In fact it seems to be the ONLY such tool and...it just flat out no longer works. At least 90% of the time not. I agree, it used to be damned cool but, in OSX 10.5.6 it does nothing. Even the quit menu command is greyed out so a Force Quit is the order of the day after trying in vain once again to get it to do its tricks.
