Product Description:

If you upload and download binary files to and from newsgroups you can use this to generate a set of PAR files. If you miss one or more of the binary files when downloading, the PAR files can be used to restore the missing files. Furthermore, if the file set contains a RAR archive, the program automatically unpacks it. Other file types, like stuffit files, are automatically forwared to the appropriate program. The program cooperates with Loek Jehee's Split&Concat to automatically join a segmented file.

What's new in this version:

You can now configure a folder where the Unrar results will always be written.
Added a configuration option for fully unattended operation.
Added a configuration option to limit the number of CPU cores used for par2 processing. Default is still to use all cores.
In Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) on an Intel Macintosh the par2 process now runs in 64-bit mode, resulting in a slight performance improvement.
The Quit menu is now disabled while a par or unrar is running. You must explicitly cancel before quitting.
Before starting the par / par2 process the program now checks if the folder is writable.
The program no longer runs on Mac OSX 10.3.x (Panther). Supported systems are 10.4.x (Tiger) and 10.5.x (Leopard).

Invalid checksums - Version: 3.7, 11/19/2007 03:51AM PST

V. 3.7 gives on almost all my downloads 'invalid checksums - cannot recover' <b>both</b> under Leopard (10.5.1 on a Macbook Pro) and under Tiger (10.4.11 on a Powerbook 12"). I have used MacPAR deLuxe for almost three years now and haven't seen this before. Definitely something wrong here.

At this point I can only recommend it for 10.4.10 and lower.

I think OSX 10.4.11 also breaks MacPAR Deluxe. It might be coincidence but the tool has not worked for me on the dozen or more occasions I've tried to use it, since upgrading.
