could be more useful, especially since the "show character palette" feature in OS 10.2.3 (system prefs->international->input menu->character palette) is really useful. Suggestions to make XChar more useful: - teach the user: show what keyboard sequence can be typed to obtain a given character quickly, when possible. - automatically switch to the font used by the forefront application. - allow several chars to be selected (from several fonts, even) before the copy/paste operation. - open the palette automatically when the pointer is over it, or over the dock icon.

useless. It it works nicely and shows html char codes, which Apple keyboard does not, and it's much more convenient in use with the collapsible floating pallette. $10 doesn't seem exorbitant. If it would auto-minimize/expand and maybe opened quicker, it would be a five-star app.

-> international -> keyboards -> choose gamma (and the normal keyboards you use). = you have free all the charachters that exist. click on the flag icon on your menubar and you have all the letters you need, in any app.
