Product Description:

MenuMachine 2 is an extension for Adobe GoLive that allows you to build fully editable drop-down menus with no coding knowledge required.

The new MenuMachine 2 features a complete WYSIWYG menu editor which allows you to edit your menu visually, just as it will appear on your page. The new editor allows you to simply drag your mouse to resize and reposition submenus with ease.

MenuMachine 2 now creates vertically expanding menus and adds several dynamic menu animation options.

MenuMachine 2 offers many built-in menu themes to get you started quickly as well as an icon and arrow gallery. Menus can be updated instantly across your entire site and feature several accessibility options to support search engines and non-JavaScript-enabled browsers.

MenuMachine 2 includes direct support for GoLive Actions and link management as well as excellent browser compatibility. If you want to build drop-down menus in GoLive, MenuMachine is your total solution.

What's new in this version:

  • A major regression bug which caused a freeze in GoLive when saving pages in certain circumstances has been fixed. This also makes the saving of Action and Frames settings work correctly.
  • The option for submenus to appear on mouse click instead of mouse over should now work properly
  • Click states should now work correctly if no over state is set
  • Some remaining issues with mailto: links have been resolved
  • Clicking the back button in Opera 7 and 8 no longer causes the menu to stop responding
  • The link pointer cursor is now shown only for menu items with links in Internet Explorer
  • A fix has been made so that unsupported browsers should see the navigation page link
  • Arrows should now work properly even if they are not included in the theme

MenuMachine ReviewExcellent Add-On to GoLive, Great Customer Service - Version: 2.2.1, 1/12/2008 06:53AM PST

Robert Paterson
MenuMachine is a lifesaver, literally. I used to spend much more time building menus, and this plug-in allows me to move on and use my day doing other things. I am a mid-level designer, and my coding skills are not great, but I would think that this would be useful for great coders as well. It's not that difficult to use, and the results look great across all platforms and browsers.

I found one glitch, something to do with how bold fonts display in Firefox (it's a Firefox limitation, not something to do with MM). I emailed tech. support, and they got back to me within a day and gave me a work-around, which worked perfectly.

All in all, this is one of the best additions to GoLive that I can own. If you design menus and want to save time, you couldn't possibly do better than MenuMachine.

If a client has ever asked for drop-down menus on their website, unless you've used Big Bang's MenuMachine the request normally illicits a groan.

Long the bane of web developers everywhere (as clunky both in look, feel and programming), drop down menus requests became welcome with this excellent GoLive add on we've been using in my company for the past 4 years.

Version 2 offers an amazing number of features and configuration options, and above average stability (GoLive not being known for it's robustness!) and allows us to add a high level of managed complexity to our drop down menus that enhance user experience and ease of use.

If there's any compliant I have about this software it's that the shear number of configuration options can be a little daunting at first, but once you take some time to play around and read the excellent online manual the program's results speak for themselves.

An exceptional Mac GoLive add-on. Highly recommended to those of us still passionate Dreamweaver holdouts.
