Product Description:

Installs a PostScript Printer Description (PPD) file version 3.1.5, and Print Dialog Extensions (PDEs) version 2.1, for use with Apple's Print Center and Mac OS X print system. This installer is distributed on a Disk Copy image (.dmg). Double-click on this file to open Disk Copy, which will mount the image like a CD or hard disk. You can then open the installers on the image. Disk Copy 10.x is included as part of Mac OS X.

What's new in this version:

MarkVision Professional is now the suggested means of managing network printers. It replaces MarkVision for Macintosh. It works on Mac OS X or later.
Two new tools provide some functionality for users whose printing requirements do not call for the robust capabilities of MarkVision Professional. The Printer File Loader lets the user send files to a printer by dropping them on the desktop icon. The Printer Settings tool gives the user the ability to set many of the default settings on the printer. There are many settings that are not included, as they are redundant with the settings available in the printer driver. The current support in the tool targets printers that do not have an operator panel.
Some screen fonts are provided by Apple. We provide our own font versions because Apple fonts differ in some way from those resident in the printer. Likewise, each of our printer models print variations of what is essentially the same font. We provide screen fonts that reflect these variations to allow for accurate use of the fonts. Most of the time, any one of the variations can be used interchangeably with any of the printers.
Mac OS X - Move the fonts you want to use from the Extras: Fonts folder to the Library/Fonts folder in your home directory or at the root of the boot disk. Because most of the preinstalled fonts on Mac OS X are in System/Library/Fonts, you can place your new fonts in either of these two locations without having to move the pre-existing ones. The system finds fonts first in your home library, then in the library at the root of the boot disk, then in the System/Library. It uses whichever font it finds first.

OS X 10.2, and also after using the printer fine with OS 9.2.2, I too had to reset the factory defaults. Works like a dream now. Mind you, tech support gave me a different and slightly more detailed (but not difficult) technique for resetting to what's in the manual (too detailed for a review), so call them if you need help. It's a two-minute job, and it saves a lot of cussing! And the printer? Does what it says it'll do. I like it.
