Version 8.4 definitely is snappier than the previous ones. Permission repair is even faster than with Disk Utility. And the possibility to activate a group of actions a la carte is great. I would rate this utility very high, if it were not that I am only using a couple of functions, of which I understand what they do. It would need more documentatiion for me to be brave enough to venture into the other fields.

After reading this program's description, I have no idea what it does. And no, I'm not a Mac newbie -- I'm a power user who's been on the platform since the early 1980s. So what the heck does it do?

If you only use this to optimize your broadband connection, you're getting tremendous value from this program.

Check out http://www.people.virginia.edu/~jmd8q/?q=node/65 for more details of how my dl speed almost doubled.

For those interested: This version of Maintain will crash on startup on 10.2.8. You gotta use 10.3+.

A great utility for your toolbag. Many options are available with other tools, and it could use better documentation, but it has over 100 commands in one place. I found the Net Speed Up to be particularly useful. Interface is fairly intuitive but you better know what the commands do before trying them.

version 7.0 will not run on versions below 10.4 . The verison 7.1 fixes that.
