Product Description:

DockExtender allows you to minimize dock clutter by allowing you to create DockExtender Menus that fit right into the dock or quickly access them through a menu bar tool. These menus contain lists of programs that are completely configurable by you. This greatly enhances the clean look of the dock, and improves speed and usability of the dock.

The DockExtender menu bar tool also allows you to create multiple docks on your system and switch between them easily.

Configuration takes place through the system preferences application right beside all other user preference settings.

    • Dockling menus now load properly.
    • Special Submenus now load properly.
    • Dynamic Submenus show titles & icons properly.
    • Depth limiting of Dynamic Submenus now functions properly again.
  • Fixed crash in Menu Bar Tool when quitting the Preference Pane.
  • Fixed crash in Menu Bar Tool when accessing the menus.
  • Icons in Docklings now load much faster.
  • Separator items in Docklings no longer show icons.
  • Dockling menu items now have icons for more files.
  • Can now assign HotKey key combinations to menus; after hitting the relevant HotKey combination, the menu will pop-up on screen as a contextual menu.
  • Recent Applications and Recent Documents submenus now display the current contents.
  • MultiDock tab now has separate "Copy Current Dock..." and "Create Empty Dock..." buttons.
  • MultiDock tab now allows you to add a "MultiDock Configurations" submenu to any DockExtender menu.

Known Issues:
  • "Add Item..." dialog may not work on all 10.1.x systems.
  • Performance of PreferencePane and Menu Bar Tool is poor, and decreases proportionally with the number of items in the menu.
  • Dockling menu items with custom icons will not have correct icon in menu.
  • Spurious crash in Preference Pane when dragging some files into the list from the Finder.
  • Some applications may not show up in the "Add Item..." list (e.g. Proteus).
  • Changing a HotKey for a menu will not release the old HotKey sequence until the next login session.

This is great application that solves a lot of problems for me. The only short-coming is that it has not been updated for more than two years and the preference panel no longer works under OS 10.4.10 Why not keep it up to date?? Please?? If the developers lack the time then perhaps they should open source it.
