Product Description:

Isadora is a graphic programming environment that provides interactive control over digital media, with special emphasis on the real-time manipulation of digital video. An Isadora program is created by linking together graphically represented building blocks, each of which performs a specific function: playing or manipulating digital video, capturing live video, looking for MIDI input, controlling a DV camera, etc. By linking the modules together you can create complex interactive relationships that can be controlled in real time, either with the mouse and keyboard, or with external devices.

Isadora just rocks... forget cumbersome programming in apps like Max/MSP (which are also slow). Isadora enables the creation of powerful real-time media manipulation just by linking pre-defined modules together. And don't think just because all modules come ready-made that the program is limited - there's a huge range of options even in this first release. The possibilities are endless.

Try teaming Isadora up with JunXion (http://www.steim.org), a Mac program that translates output from USB Game Devices such as Joysticks and Wireless Game Pads into Midi data, and you suddenly have real-time media manipulation from a whole range of remote activators and sensors. I re-purposed an old Microsoft Sidewinder pad into an instant motion control device... works beautifully.

The only niggle with Isadora in v1.0 is the interface: needs more refinement.
