Product Description:

LogOut is a screen saver designed to log out the current user when it goes active; in public-use labs it is often desirable to have some way of returning the machines to their initial state without depending on the users (read: unwashed masses) to log out when they are finished. LogOut was created to solve this specific problem. Source code is included.

What's new in this version:

Removed build directory from source and stripped binary to produce a *much* smaller download. Thanks, eican :)

LogOut Troubleshooting ReportLogOut vs. Panther - Version: 0.1, 11/22/2003 03:17PM PST

On my system, LogOut no longer works since I've installed Panther. I emailed the creator who recommended his follow-up utility called ScriptSaver. That one didn't work either. However, I have just figured out that the probable reason is that the functionality is now built into the OS! Go into the security panel when logged in as an admin; the last option (Log out after XX minutes of activity) does exactly what LogOut did. The only difference is that the same time setting is used for all users.

LogOut ReviewVery nice. I'm… - Version: 0.1, 11/4/2002 12:55AM PST

surprised Apple doesn't have some sort of automatic logout built into OS X for security purposes, etc. The only part that I'd like to see added is the ability to automatically save any unsaved, open documents to a specified folder prior to logging out. For those who forget to save their work. `'-)
