SilverFast SE for Nikon LS 2000 scans into 48 bit format, too. ICE is supported as well. SilverFast SE Plus allows to use Multi-Sampling to eliminate noise. This way the Dynamic Ranage of the LS2000 is significantly increased.

SE scans only in low bit - Version: 6.1.0r5, 11/6/2003 04:47PM PST
it's only me
The SE versions of Silverfast only scan in 24 bit. To scan in 48 bit you need the (more expensive) Silverfast Ai. IMHO, not being able to scan in 48 bit isn't worth it. With high bit output support, you'll have a lot more bit depth to work with when you bring the scan into your image editor.

This software does not work properly with the film strip adapter that comes with the Nikon LS-2000. It will not preview film once loaded into the slide adapter--that's a major part of the functionality of this software and the hardware, so in my book that makes this a pretty significant flaw. What's more, LaserSoft's support is slow and spotty. If they get back to you at all, the responses are cryptic and little is offered in the way of recompense for the faulty software. However, they did acknowledge that version 6.1.0r5, released just a week ago, has the aforementioned problem (as did the previous version). This is my exchange with tech support.
Me: "...it kind of took a long time to get a response from you guys and this new "improved" version still does not fix the problem of previews when using negative strip film in Photoshop 7, OS 10.2.6. Maybe you can tell me if there is something specific I need to do to get this feature to work properly in this new version."
LaserSoft: "I‘m sorry. I just tried this here, and it indeed seems to be a problem with the software. I sent a report to our development team, and will notify you once this got fixed."

Hi,
Installed it and does really pro scanning. Colors are perfect, handling is easy and straight forward. You can influence the automatic mode as much as you need and the film negatives show correct colors in comparison to other products.

"Starting with version 6.6, SilverFast now supports Leopard for all 35mm Nikon scanner models (and all current IntelMacs).
Nikon Filmscanner are now addressed directly without any detour through the MAID-module.
With help of the patented SilverFast ME®, Kodachrome slides can be scanned with full dynamic range up to 3,8D for the first time
(without SilverFast ME® the Nikon LS5000ED generally only reaches 3,3D)."
