The only thing this shining hunk of junk did for me was change my screen resolution which resized all my windows.
Thanks for a very poorly thought out and executed piece of software.
I won't be giving you any of my money.

It's hilarious that they charge $20 for this program when WMPlayer and VLC are free.

They're still using the 5-minute trial time? How ridiculous.

VLC and mplayer is all you need.

MacVCD X ReviewWhat good will 5 minutes tell you? - Version: 4.4.1, 9/13/2005 05:26AM PST

AppleBeer
Creator only gives you a five minute demo of his product which tells you nothing. $19.95 I pass not enough proof this is worth even buying or even if there is support for it and proper instructions.

in a word, crap.

sorry. it won't play a single VCD I own.

Wouldn't pay for it. Use VLC, it's free and solid.

Works great on my old iBook g3 using less resources than Quicktime Player.
No stuttering of video. Recommended for slower Macs.

MacVCD X ReviewMacVCD X Kicks VLC's Ass! - Version: 4.2.0, 11/6/2004 10:19AM PST

VLC may be free, but sometimes "you get what you pay for"! And, it may claim to handle a lot of different formats, but it doesn't handle them well. My VCDs looked pretty bad with VLC, but I assumed it was just the nature of the VCD beast. Turns out, it was the player. MacVCD's playback quality blew me away. MacVCD X is a great product that does one thing, and does it well. This is far better, in my opinion, than a half-assed, poorly implemented Swiss Army knife type application like VLC.
