all you folks, the NEW Que! firewire 40x12x48 doesn't show up on my G4, either... what's old is new again.

to let all of you know, if you take the drive out of the QPS enclosure, and put it in a firewire enclosure it works just fine. I put mine in a Macally enclosure (part # CA-805FWC) and I couldn't be happier. You can get these, and other similar enclosures, for less than $100, which is cheaper than buying a new external drive. This also allows you to upgrade in the future by just buying an internal drive. I'd also like to point out that this fixes the problem of only being able to burn music CDs at 2x, since that was a limitation imposed by USB. I know we shouldn't have to go to these measures to get this thing to work, but why wait for QPS to start supporting their own merchandise? This solution works, and is available now. (Like I said, I couldn't be happier.)

shot at sunrise... twice! Once for releasing a driver that they know won't support the main function of the drive (oh, it is "OS X compatible" - you can read discs with it...) Do they think the world is stupid? Second, for saying "We'll have a working version in a couple of weeks" for over a month now...AND the carefree customer support. I don't believe that they really care about making it work right anyway... they don't even sell the USB burner anymore, I don't think... They suck. I will never buy another QPS product again. Thank God that my new Ti has a burner built in.

USB is still invisible in OS X 10.1.3. I had to return 2 Que Fire's at work and they are second only to Rio in lousy customer service. I would never own a QPS if a friend hadn't given me this one when he got a new one. Lous, lousy, lousy!!

in all apps, but can't burn anything. I get the 'please insert...' line in itunes and burns fail halfway in toast. Lots of coasters have been formed, but with the Que, isn't that normal?

lousy. I believe QPS Que! was the first USB CDRW drive that was Mac compatible. Why can't Apple and QPS work together on such an important and long standing product?

but no write. Need write. This is probably not Que's fault but Apple's and their half baked OS. Most of my peripherals don't work under X and my Que drive is no exception.

this even with the negative feedback. question: i'm 10.1.3 on a g3 powerbook (pismo) and it now sees the quedrive, but won't let me burn anything. iTunes, Toast and the macosx all see the drive and keep asking for a "recordable cd". is this the same prob that others have had?

poor, but give QPS some slack. I'm sure they're working hard - it just is probably a difficult task. os x isn't perfect, neither is qps.
