I'm afraid this might be has-been-ware

This is so nearly an excellent program, but it has a few too many minor irritations and quirks to merit five stars. For example, it frequently, for no obvious reason, flips imported images or text; its "Combine Outlines" command, comparable to "Group" in many draw programs, handles colours in a very idiosyncratic way; and it doesn't let you set a default page size. These points could easily be addressed but the developers seem to have stopped work on the program. It's now well over a year since the last upgrade and, notwithstanding earlier reviewers' comments about good support, I have had not a single reply, not even an acknowledgment, to the three or four questions I've asked.
THIS PROGRAM IS GREAT

This graphics program is very intuitive/easy to use and it has many of the features very expensive software has. The prints come out great too. I use iDraw on a daily basis and I recomend it to anyone who wants a great graphics program. This software provides excellent value.

resizing here. This is a pretty impressive first start but needs more features to really be competitive. Primarily we need transparancy (linear, circular, eliptical, and fractal) and blends. That will help very much with vector illustration. Try to make as many of the tools interactive directly on the object rather than via dialog boxes. Web exporting should have more transparancy features where you can make a gif transparent to different colored backgrouds or patterns. But it is a good start.

interface. I like the tools complement as well (i.e. shear, rotate etc.), but these don't seem to provide any functionality that's different to skewing or resizing the image. Resizing works flawlessly for me (from handles), don't know what the problems are. Font/text management could do with an interface that matches the rest of the tool as well. Still, good work so far, hope to see this progress.
Worthless resizing functionality.…

Drag the handles and you will see something I thought only Microsoft could have done. The entire product is useless because of this - It might as well have crashed.
Very limited text…

accept resizing by mouse, only via the info palette, so why are there handles when you select an object ? — A bug with the Undo command : when I "Close outline" on an object, then Undo, it delete the form I just closed or another one nearby… — I use a tablet : if I draw too slowly, the line is jiggled, if I draw too quickly, it's not smoothed (no curves, just straight lines) — For an obscure reason, I can't change the "Fill" option once I closed a shape —Too bad it doesn't have pressure recognition, it would be very useful for free hand drawing. So… I have to find another soft, but this one is a good try, keep it develloping and adding options !
The only but…

major thing I am missing is that iDraw learns about Page Formats and Paper Sizes; at this time I only can define the drawing area by defining the number of pixels. But because I usually print what I draw, and I would like it to fit exactly on some form, like a vcard, post card, cd cover a.s.o. I need to be able to define the physical dimensions of this form as drawing aerea, not stupid dots nobody else than a computer cares about.
