Easy setup, and now moving data back and forth between my Mac and my PC, which until now has been impossible on ANY of my machines using Apple's built-in SAMBA "support".

Other than the fact that this really doesn't work, I can't think of a single reason not to download and clutter up your hard drive with another useless ap.

This is a very useful program, and the "lite" verion is free and totally functional for basic filesharing needs. What it does, among other things, is to make it possible for windows clients to see and download Macintosh files even if they have characters in their names which are "illegal" in Windows (such as quotes, slashes, etc). Samba can't do that. Also, with Samba on Windows clients, you have to remember an arcane IP address like smb://username@comutername/foldername, or something like that. This program makes it so a complete beginner can see and share files. I highly recommend it for this use.

Kenbushi Pro Usage TipDownload link is to the Lite (demo) version... - Version: 5.1.0, 10/21/2005 08:08AM PST

The download link conencts to their lite version of the software, which probably explains why it's free and why it doesn't upload. I consider this a demo version; (Versiontracker.com staff take note) this is not really freeware, since the lite version is disabled compared to the full version. However, the price for the full version is favorable compared to a better-known competitor, AdmitMac by Thursby Software.

Kenbushi Pro ReviewWorks well, but not for us... - Version: 4.6.0, 6/23/2005 11:33AM PST

Since it only does downloads - you can't upload to another computer - it's not useful for our company.

The newest version has been tested on Jaguar (10.2.8), Panther (10.3.9) and Tiger (10.4.1) and works well.

The Windows version has been tested on Win98, Win2k and WinXP, the Linux version has been tested on Fedora 3.0, and the MacOS Classic version has been tested on MacOS Classic 8.6 and MacOS Classic 9.2. It works well on all platforms.

Kenbushi Pro ReviewWorks a treat, even over the Internet! - Version: 3.2.1, 4/7/2004 01:03AM PST

This app works superbly and does a very useful job. In contrast, I have had repeated problems trying to get my MacOS X 10.2 and Windows computers linked via Windows file sharing (it's a real pain and usually doesn't work - MS probably build in some 'stuff-up' variable to thwart other platforms using their protocols properly). Download and use this app. It rocks!

Perhaps you didn't notice the "Download free Lite Edition" links on their site? Nothing I read mentioned any payment for Lite: "The Lite Edition works with files smaller than 10mb in size, and allows 3 users in a workgroup. The commercial Standard and Professional Editions do not have these limitations."
