Can't get it to load - Version: 2.02, 3/13/2008 04:21PM PST

iAlarm sounds like just what I was looking for, but I can't get this 2.02 version to load on my iMac (PowerPC G4 running OS X 10.4.11). When I launch the program, it immediately quits ("unexpectedly quit").

Works great while traveling!

I travel a lot for work and always have my macbook pro with me. With this product I am able to wake up to the latest BBC news report and then have my ACDC playlist start playing in iTunes. Nothing like a little rock n roll to get me moving in the morning. -Stan
Useless for Wake-Up When Computer Sleeps - Version: 2.01, 1/26/2008 12:00AM PST

I tested this program---repeatedly. It simply doesn't *not* wake up the computer when the computer goes to sleep.
There are other options that are nothing, if not more elegant and user friendly --- and effective when waking from sleep.
Alarm Clock 2.4.5 is one that has never failed me. All it takes is a one-time "authorization" to wake up your computer from sleep. And, it's free.
I use a simple (68k) and very functional script (iSleepSound) with iTunes to put my computer (and myself) to sleep after a set amount of time.
Then, I use the alarm clock of my choice (usually Alarm Clock 2.4.5) to *reliably* wake me up.

Needs Tiger update!!! Please iSam! - Version: 1.61, 3/21/2006 10:21PM PST

iSam, I see that you're around and still reading the comments on your program, but your a hard person to find on the internet.
Pleasssssssssssssse update this program for Tiger. I love it, as it's the most versatile alarm program out there, but the news and calendar functions no longer seem to work in Tiger, and the iTunes function works sporadically, as well as the fact that the final script never seems to be run.
And, while your at it, how about adding a thing for hearing stock quotes on wake up?

It normally works fine but once in every few weeks it doesn't work and I horribly oversleep.
Worth the $5.75 - Version: 1.61, 10/2/2005 04:57PM PST

Weird price to ask for, but hey, it's worth it. I used it for a good four or five months before paying for it, just 'cause I'm lazy :D Needs to be able to use an Australian news service though...

I just downloaded and was setting the timer. Hit the set button and the volume just dropped considerably in itunes. I closed, reopened, and it's still not where it was prior. How do I fix this???

weather? - Version: 1.61, 10/21/2004 08:29AM PST

When I have iAlarm set to speak the weather, it doesn't do so. And it doesn't start iTunes either. only when unchecking the weather option it behaves normally. (I am constantly connected to the internet).
The Energy Saver issue is the only drawback, and a minor one IMHO. You have to make sure your Energy Saver panel in the Mac's System Preferences is set to put the computer to sleep "Never", cuz if it does, iAlarm can't wake the beast back up to play the alarm.
You can use iAlarm's built-in energy-saver feature to put the Mac to sleep in a way that will allow iAlarm to wake it back up on time and play the alarm, but only at the expense of not being able to use the Sleep Timer feature, which is my main use of iAlarm. The trade-off is OK with me, but prevents me from giving iAlarm a 100% excellent rating. It only gets 95% -- still pretty good and well worth the modest registration fee, or delayed startup and reminder message if you don't register.
