Product Description:

SMB Browse is a utility to help you browse and mount Windows/SAMBA-based networks in OS X. You no longer need to memorize server name/sharepoint names.

Please make sure to read the Read Me, the finder issue is a known problem and if you use SMB Browse to eject (unmount) the SMB mounted volumes the finder eject problem disappears. Thanks everyone for the feedback.

What's new in this version:

  • Ejecting of Shares from the Finder now works
  • Username, Domain and wins server are now saved in User preferences between uses
  • Special Thanks Eric Peyton for helping with mount problems in the finder and for the Darwin pointers on Disk Arbitratioin
  • Special Thanks Brian Loose @ Apple for the PowerBook deal without this new addition, SMB Browse testing was slowing to a crawl.
  • German , French, Japanese and Chinese versions are now included

thanks for your insight re: port 453. I have the same issue as "Tyaris Major" - many, many PC's but nothing *at all* shows up. Don't know about the rest of you, but I have *NO* control over server settings, can Gordon add an option to allow me to control the port number it uses? Are there any work arounds to paranoid network security people who reject port 453?

when unmounting a share, it unmounts two of my three HD partitions and my internal DVD drive, too, which has made me restart my machine to get them back.

can't see shares your firewall is likely set to deny packets from port 453. Simply allow packets from 453 to enter from your WINS server and you'll see the shares. Simple. Of course, for some reason I can't get onto shares I have access to. Strange. What's up with not remembering settings from session to session? Fix it! ;)
