Product Description:

ideaSpiral provides a new kind of word processing environment that helps you keep track of your ideas and projects. ideaSpiral enables you to store multiple text entries in one file and to organize them in a hierarchical list stored in a floating window. By clicking on an item in the list, you can display the corresponding text entry. There are also several tools available that facilitate organizing and sorting in order to keep them exactly how you want them.

When working with creative projects on your computer, you tend to build up a pretty big collection of text files. No matter how well you name them, it can often take a while to find the one that you are looking for. The purpose of ideaSpiral is to keep all of these text files in a single file dedicated to the particular project. Now you can use the organizational tools in ideaSpiral to make sure that you do not waste unnecessary time while working on your computer.

What's new in this version:

  • Import RTF has been added.
  • When creating multiple notes through the Multi Notes feature, saving would not work unless you manually created a new note.
  • If trying to save over an older file (via save as) the old file would not get replaced.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3
  • Mac OS X 10.2
  • Mac OS X 10.1

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.1 or higher

. . . a year and a half later. Can we officially declare that this developer has given up on this app, despite his promises to the contrary? I bought this one, but as the saying goes: "You pays your money, you takes your chances."

I've had IdeaSpiral for a while now, but never got to use it, since I felt it was a bit limited. Today I used it for one project and while I liked it, it still has a lot of room for improvement.
Some suggestions include "drag and drop" support, mousewheel support, better search implementation, copying and pasting "format" and not only text, better hierarchy management, etc.
I hope some of these issues (and more) are addressed with version 2.
I used Idea Keeper on OS 9, but that developer stopped working on his program a long time ago. Hopefully ideaSpiral can provide some of te functionality that Idea Keeper had.

No, I haven't given up. I'm in the Air Force right now, trying to make my way through college, and start a life. I have _not_ given up on ideaSpiral, I just don't put out releases every month like I used to. Currently I'm working on the 2.0 release of ideaSpiral. It should (god willing) be out later on this year.
