Product Description:

XShelf is an application that enhances Drag and Drop operations in MacOS X by providing a shelf where Drag and Dropped items (such as files, text, or URLs) can be stored for later use. Thus, not only can Drag and Drop operations be "paused", multiple operations can be in flight at once.
XShelf now has support for Services, command-line tools and some clipboard integration.

What's new in this version:

  • Updated for Leopard. Due to lack of time or resources, this version is only tested on 10.4 and later.
  • Fitt's revenge. Items can be dropped without backing away from the edge of the screen (though the highlight doesn't appear).
  • Fixed a bug where, if you had the context menu open, clicking away would leave the drawer open.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.5 Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.5 PPC
  • Mac OS X 10.4 Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.4 or higher

XShelf ReviewWONDERFUL to have in Leopard - Version: 1.1.4, 11/6/2007 06:36AM PST

Been using Leopard for a few days and was constantly missing XShelf. Kudos to the developer. Send him a few $$ - at least enough for a cheap bottle of wine.

XShelf ReviewIndispensible - Version: 1.1.3, 9/30/2006 11:07AM PST

I've been using this for years and have found it indispensible. Even with multiple large screens, it can be a pain to move things between desktop and finder windows. There's nothing else this program needs and I applaud Karl for migrating it to UB when he didn't have to. There's an attitude among some developers (thankfully few) of "Hey, it's free. Just accept whatever I give you and shut up." I don't use this all that much, but when you need it, you need it. Maybe if OS X emulated Windows' option to cut and paste files, this would be obsolete, but I don't know if Apple will ever add that to the current option of copying and pasting files. In any event, thank you, Karl.
