I'm a book keeper and I use Accounts since about two years.
It's so easy and simple. It worths much more than its price.
It functions the same way as an old fashion book keeping and it does all the reports you want at the date you want. No plugins, no "sugar" around the package, only pure and simple book keeping. That's why I like it.

I used to get regular updates but haven't heard from the developer for some time. Also, I notice it's been almost a year since the last update which makes me wonder if this program has reached its life expectancy.

I agree with the previous comment. I have demo'd about 10 different personal finance packages - specifically looking at whether or not I can generate financial statements and how easy I can import the download from my bank accounts. This product looks AMAZING however can't do the downloading. So unfortunately I ended up wtih Liquid Ledger which has its drawbacks (not a great interface) but is intuitive and simple. I wanted to buy this!!! Please add the import feature!!!!

This product has me drooling over it, just wishing there was a way I could justify using it. The interface is very intuitive and the product looks solid, but most of all it just looks so good. This is compared to Moneydance, which although functional, is about as sexy a turnip with UI to match. Unfortunately Moneydance has two killer features not found in Accounts; namely having accounts in different currencies (with a base currency) and QIF imports. I'll keep checking to see if this ever gets added...

I have tried almost all accounting and personal finance software and I love this one. It is very intuitive, user-friendly and well designed (I like the brushed-metal look) . I highly recommend it. Looking forward to future updates.

Excellent as usual.
And I've tried many others.... Money, Moneydance, Liquid Ledger, iBank, Finance To Go - even that nasty Quicken thing Apple keeps sticking on the drive of my new Macs!
Accounts is 'real' accounting software without the fat and bloat. Yes, it has limited import/export, limited visual customisation, and without online banking it's probably more useful for small business than personal finance.
But the thing is - for what it does, it works: elegantly, easily, and much more intuitively (despite some 'hard core' accounting features) than any of the others I've tried.
I hope the developer is in for the 'long haul', because I think I have finally found something to replace MacMoney!
