Wake550 ReviewGreat program! - Version: 0.4, 10/25/2007 06:46AM PST

MacHound
I just learned about this app from a thread at MacOSXhints:

There are other ways to accomplish the same task, but none so elegant or simple. Wake550 beats running downstairs to turn on my headless Mini every time I want to VNC into it. Thanks.

To put the remote Mac to sleep, use Terminal to connect to it via SSH, then type:

osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to sleep'

Wake550 CommentaryGood, but... - Version: 0.4, 11/4/2004 01:35PM PST

Works as advertised, no problems, but it sure would be nice if it could put a machine to sleep again. I have a file server that serves no purpose when I'm not backing up or retrieving files and therefore I sleep it as soon as I'm done with either of those things. I was hoping to use this instead of Remote Desktop for the purpose of waking the machine up, but if I can't put it back to sleep again then that's not going to be feasible.
