Alarm Clock Pro ReviewBest one out there - Version: 9.2, 10/21/2009 08:34AM PST

After I upgraded to 10.6 and iTunesSleep stopped working, I needed to find a new alarm clock. I tried just about every one out there, none of which worked the way I wanted, until I found Alarm Clock Pro. Even it had a couple of glitches, but after a couple of e-mails to the support team, both of my issues were fixed (within the week). Alarm Clock pro now works exactly the way I want my alarm clock to work, making it the only choice for me, and a very good, if paid, option.

I stopped using it after version 9 - they took out the really simple visual alarm which was the most useful thing.

Paid for the upgrade, just installed the latest 9.1.2. I like it. The new setup assistant is nice, and it makes it much easier to set up the exact alarm you're looking for. It also allows more media playback options.

Alarm Clock Pro ReviewI own the previous version. Not paying for a bug fix! - Version: 9.0, 6/28/2009 03:11PM PST

Pretty incredible really... They call this a paid upgrade when all they have done is fix 10 bugs and made a modification to the power manager "...as it should have been before." For that, you want $10? That just doesn't seem right.

Alarm Clock Pro CommentaryWhy Pay for A Bug Fix? - Version: 8.6.1, 6/23/2009 04:29AM PST

Timothy Maxwell
I was about to upgrade to version 9.0. However, I read the developer's note regarding the changes made to the program and it appears that the upgrade is primarily a bug fix! Why should a developer ask the consumer to pay for something that should have worked right in the first place? What seem to be even more ridiculous is this. Look at the developers explanation for why they are charging for this upgrade. Their only justification for charging us is that they have not charged us in the last 10 years. Their comment was as follows: "Version 9.0 from the last 8.x release is primarily a bug fix release; however, we have big plans for it in the coming months, so please stay tuned."

So again, it appears that they are charging us for fixing a broken program and want to be paid for the promise of something better. Wow! What a great business they're in! Frankly, I have never seen a developer ask for money on the basis of the promise to make an improved product. Really, they should put out an upgrade that really enhances the usefulness of their program. That is the normal way of getting paid in this business.

I purchased this product on January 25, 2008 and made the mistake of upgrading to version 9.0. Now, I only have a 15 day trial and have lost the program that I once used. Yes, they are offering a download link to the old product if we contact them, but, why should we have to go through such efforts?

Alarm Clock Pro CommentaryPaid Upgrade - Version: 9.0, 5/21/2009 09:57AM PST

Koingo Software
For those who missed it in the release notes during Software Update, or those who have not yet upgraded, Alarm Clock Pro 9 is a paid upgrade. This is the first paid upgrade to Alarm Clock Pro in 10 years, and we thank everyone for their support!

Version 9.0 from the last 8.x release is primarily a bug fix release; however, we have big plans for it in the coming months, so please stay tuned. In fairness, we'll also be releasing a new 8.x point release containing these same bug fixes so that customers remaining on 8.x will have a final stable version of the product.

Buyers of Alarm Clock Pro 8 on or after January 1, 2009, can obtain a free license at the link below. Also, all other users can use the same form to proceed to a paid upgrade page.

http://www.koingosw.com/store-upgrade.php

Upgrades are free for any buyers of the Utility Package, and the license should automatically be in your account. For users wishing to remain on version 8 and inadvertently upgraded, please contact us, and we'll offer you an 8.x download link.
