Product Description:

sunShield Pro is a GUI that enables a user to configure ipfw, the interface to the packet filtering firewall that sits in the kernel. Although it is designed to be as simple as possible, giving access to (almost) full potential of ipfw2 on a single pane requires some knowledge about firewall rules. sunShield Pro however now supports rules packs, sunShield EXchange files, that apply a bunch of rules to match a typical configuration, along wiht the templates for specific services.

What's new in this version:

  • Edit as new rule broken.
  • Debug output logged on dynamic rules, even when debug output disabled
  • Refresh button on Logging window (request by hissss)

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.4

sunShield ReviewReal cool alternative - Version: 2.0.3, 11/12/2007 04:36AM PST

superlemonster
Been using this firewall for about 4 month now, and man, it is really a better alternative to os x's bundled front end. Just upgraded to Leopard and had problems though, crashing when trying to start it. But the devs were cool enough to send me directly a new build, that adds support for 10.5. NOw it's like before and working again.

I used brickhouse before and really like it too, but I guess it's always good to have both ;-)

sunShield Developer NoteWhy not read the requirements before complaining? - Version: 2.0.3, 6/22/2006 03:40AM PST

sunProtecting Factory
Nickynickster,

The requirement say it needs 10.4 to run, so it will NOT run on 10.3. So why rate it if you can't test it?

Good luck finding the product you are looking for (Oh by the way, sunShield 1.5 whicht he last version to work on 10.3 is FREE, ain't it what you are looking for?)
