Product Description:

MemoryStick does one thing and does it well: it provides a graphical display of your physical RAM usage under Mac OS X. This tells you whether you have enough RAM to avoid virtual memory swapouts during normal activity; virtual memory swapouts make Mac OS X much slower.

What's new in this version:

This new version (1.1) adds an indication of how many swapfiles you have, and a Dock icon that graphs RAM usage dynamically so you don't need MemoryStick's window; plus, all colors are now user-configurable.

We've been using this on several Macs for years now. It's so valuable that it's set to automatically start on login for all our users. If your machine starts to get into trouble with an application hogging too much memory, you will see it immediately. The window can be formed to take up a tiny sliver of space, yet still give a complete graphical view of memory usage. It is particularly good for less technical users, yet shows details useful to sophisticated users as well. There seems to be no hit on system resources whatsoever.

We've never had the first problem with this little application and the price is right - free.

It's indispensable for us. Do remember, this is PPC only.

Sorry about that. I think the download is fixed now. (I don't understand what the problem was - even on my own machine, making an archive and trying to unzip fails, and I don't know why. I should have tested this before posting. It is now a zipped .dmg and it appears to work fine.)
