Product Description:

Tired of having to use the Terminal to get the memory/CPU usage of specific processes? With this simple application, you can graphically see the memory/CPU usage of your applications and processes. Memory Usage Getter gets a comprehensive list of open applications and their memory/CPU usage, then sorts and displays them in 3 different sections (or one big long list if you wish), making it easy to see the memory/CPU usage of your applications as well as system processes.

What's new in this version:

  • Added the ability to report memory and CPU usage via the Dock icon. Woohoo!
  • Added the ability to set the priority of processes from within Memory Usage Getter (for those UNIX people out there, this is the equivalent of renice).
  • All colors of the visual representations, overall progress bar, and Dock icon can now be configured.
  • Changed the overall progress bar to a stacked bar graph image. Sorry to those who like standard Cocoa progress bars, but they just didn't cut it for the overall progress bar anymore.
  • MUG is now dual-processor aware when dealing with CPU usage. The CPU visual representations and the Dock icon graph will both scale to 200% when dual processors are detected.
  • Fixed the annoying bug where enabling a column wouldn't necessarily insure that it was visible on next launch.
  • The Preferences dialog is now divided into tabs to accomodate more preferences.
  • Some miscellaneous other features and bug fixes.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3
  • Mac OS X 10.2
  • Mac OS X 10.1

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.1 or higher

Memory Usage Getter ReviewSolid - Version: 2.6, 10/16/2006 09:09PM PST

Unique in its' ability to kill programs via the mouse (one-handed!), and not too hard on the cpu. Had some stability issues at first, but a complete reload solved that (and didn't have to use the "patch" the author suggests). I made a registration error, and the author replied WITH A FIX, immediately (minutes, not hours or days).

Sorry about that silly bug with the "Applications" and "Other User Processes" tabs not showing anything. This has now been corrected -- please redownload MUG 2.6 to get the fix.

Memory Usage Getter CommentaryAll processes show up under one tab - Version: 2.6, 1/17/2006 03:43PM PST

All applications and processes show up under the “System Processes“ tab. The other tabs are empty. Returning to version 2.5.1 fixes this.
