Product Description:

Aqua Mines is a strategy game, in which you try to identify where the mines are located. One wrong click and its all over.

What's new in this version:

  • Extra tile sets can be found at: http://homepage.mac.com/roastedsoftware/software/aqua_mines/
  • Aqua Mines will now hide file extensions unless the user types them in the file name.
  • Made the Preference Controller smarter, now it only resets the game if you change mine field settings or turn peeking off.
  • Added Export Active Tile Set... menu item.
  • Moved some menu items around, sorry this should be the last time.
  • Changed the bundled mine sets.
  • Fixed bug that would start a new game when you changed tile sets.
  • Added right click on revealed number to reveal surrounding tiles preference.
  • Added new preference tab and moved some existing options to it.
  • Changed death mine in both Aqua tile sets to purple.
  • Changed Mine in both Aqua tile sets to yellow.
  • Changed Mine found in both Aqua tile sets to yellow with a red X over it.

Some of the installed files under Resources/ don't give world read and execute permission. Admin users (in the admin group) can play the game just fine, but I found that I needed to manually fix permissions for the game to be playable by non-admin users.

In Terminal in the directory

/Applications/Aqua Mines.app/Contents

I ran the command (as an admin user)

sudo chmod -R o+rX .

(note that the X is followed by a space and a dot)

to fix up the permissions and everything now works.

Version 2.1.2 was a quick version to fix a problem introduced by the Security update yesterday. I didn't not properly test on a non intel mac or a non development system. I've just posted 2.1.3 which should fix the problem where it will not run on PPC machines and I've removed the dependancy on ZeroLink so it should work on systems with out the dev tools.<br><br>In addition to that I will be looking at the app more this weekend and the next to make sure its working well and considering some of the features I've been putting off for far to long.
