Product Description:

Record radio stream (Shoutcast and Icecast) and split track to mp3 files with name of the track. Allow you to record multiple radios simultaneously depending on your internet connexion bandwith. This is a native cocoa application with a nice GUI (not like command line rippers) furthermore it takes very little cpu power . ISA allows you to relay one or more streams on your local network providing a way to give music to every computer without using internet bandwidth (except for the relay computer). Schedule records for later use (iPod, etc)

What's new in this version:

  • Fixed a bug where an artist folder would be created even if the file was skipped.
  • Fixed a bug where the time in a timer was not interpreted correcly.
  • Fixed a bug where ISA's timer would stop working after a timer record has been stopped manually
  • Added a cornerView to sort Schedules in the Schedule window (Click columns to sort)
  • Added customizable ID3 Genres - edit them in them in the preferences
  • Added an option to sort files by genre
  • Improved the "reconnect on error" function
  • Added an option to tell ISA to stop recording a stream but only when the current song is finished (works only with streams that provide tracks informations
  • Added an option to split file every X MB - This works only when the "Ignore meta informations" Switch is selected in a bookmark (Useful for stream that doesn't provide track informations, instead of getting a big file you get several small files, easier to manage on an iPod or CD)
  • Small cosmetic changes
  • Removed "Save" and "Cancel" Button on the preferences window, preferences are saved when you close the window.

I just love this program. Have used it since 2002 and although there have been problems along the way that is a minor issue. I use it to get exposed to new artists and boy have I found many great songs! Many of which I have bought at iTunes Music Store, and these are artists that I would never have found without iNet Stream Archiver. Just love it!
The only downside is that is isn't always easy to figure out how things work so a good manual would be great for beginners!

This program doesn't seem to do anything. I've tried everything obvious to get it to download a stream, but I can't get it to do anything. The "Help" is completely vague and doesn't tell you how to do anything. Awful. Waste of my time.

iNet Stream Archiver CommentaryHas potential.... - Version: 1.7.0rc2, 6/4/2007 09:40AM PST

Alright, I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but this program needs a manual. I was at a loss for quite a while, opening various tabs, etc. trying to get it to work. nope. Then, on one reopen, it asked if I wanted to download stations for the tuner. After that it worked for those stations, but I cannot get it to make a bookmark for itunes radio stations.

It really records the songs, looks up their ids, and catalogs them.

Wouldn't it be great if this worked with the new AOL radio? Maybe I could access XM stations thru AOL and record them....

Efforts to communicate with the developer have so far not been successful after two days. The website "contact" page also comes up as an error.
