Changing email clients is rare and a usually a one-off exercise. It also a real pain.
Converted 13 years of Eudora mail across 10 mailboxes with attachments and read/reply marks.
The attachments didn't come through first time so deleted the imported Apple Mail folder & started again - 2nd time worked perfectly/

Eudora Mailbox Cleaner Usage TipBetter organization of the directions will improve the product - Version: 4.9, 4/7/2009 11:33PM PST

I read the directions more than once. If they could be organized better, they might be easier to understand. Since this is a "get it right the first time" process, a clearer layout of the steps will help a user to feel more confident before committing himself.

Eudora Mailbox Cleaner ReviewPC Eudora 7 to OS X Mail -- flawless migration - Version: 4.9, 4/7/2009 11:22PM PST

With a little careful reading of the instructions, and even as a newbie Mac user, EMC imported some 7 years' (230 mailboxes) of mail from PC Eudora to OS X Apple Mail. The two scripts included in the package automated rebuilding of the imported mailboxes and edited and activated imported filters.

This program is the only one I've seen that does the whole job with very little effort on your part. And I've looked.

Congratulations to Aamann on a superb program. I'll send him a donation.

Eudora Mailbox Cleaner Commentarymanual mailbox rebuild killed this for me - Version: 4.8, 3/22/2008 01:10PM PST

After completing the mailbox migration, I saw from the dialog box that appeared that I needed to rebuild each migrated mailbox (using the Mail REBUILD menu item). The problem is, there is no way to rebuild multiple mailboxes at once. I have 767 mailboxes total (including mailboxes within Eudora folders of mailboxes). Individually selecting 767 mailboxes and selecting Rebuild from the menu would have taken eons. If there could be found a way around this terrible inconvenience, I might be more excited about the tool.

I have been using Eudora for as long as Eudora has been available (originally from the U of I, Champaign/Urbana). I'm currently using the latest version from Eudora.com and have been fairly happy with it.

I've also been a .Mac member since Apple first launched the service.

I was looking forward to a migration path to Mail so that I might be able to take advantage of some of the features Mail gives me that are unique to Apple...such as .mac syncing.

Transfered all my Eudora (v 6.2.4) e-mail over to Thunderbird (v 2.0.0.9) including location of attached files etc. without any problem on my G4 mac OS 10.4.11. Many messages were re-marked as unread, but this was not a problem really. Not sure why it's called Mailbox Cleaner, but it did exactly what it said without any hassle.

This tool may well be useful and do its job well, but if you initiate it by mistake or grab the wrong mail file or otherwise change your mind, there's no option but to force-terminate the utility; the developer could not be bothered with the option of a "CANCEL" button. Even the screen shot the developer supplies at this writing shows as much -- once you begin the process, you can only proceed -- no cancel option at all.

Saved me hours of work in moving a user from Eudora on Windows 2000 to Apple Mail on Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger. I emailed the author with a bug report and he replied the next morning with a patch correcting the problem. I gladly donated US $20 to him.
