I was very pleased to find this program as there are many alternatives available but none as feature rich as this one.
It was a little tricky to learn at first but I was still able to get a working schedule relatively easily just by fudging and groping around with it.
As a free lite user, I examined the many available online tutorials at the software web site which helped my get confortable using the program. This program has an addictive quality to it with all the feedback that it offers on the built schedules.
I went ahead and made the purchase to upgrade from the lite version to the pro version. Here's where the value is: I had a complex scheduling question that I needed support from the author. I immediately got a response (within an hour or so) and I found the guy to be somewhat of a scheduling genius, and what was great was he helped me get up to speed with the software to solve my own issue.
I've never encountered product support of this high quality. Really first rate.

Which view are you referring to? Do you mean the one listed at URL http://www.splendidcity.net/support/tutorBegin-Pages/Image9.html ???
What is your screen resolution size. This window will work with resolutions down to 640 X 480 so I'm suprised it doesn't fit in your window.

Creates a data entry window whose bottom is below the bottom edge of my screen. Since the "add" button is off the screen I can't add items. Since the green window size button is not implemented and the lower-right window corner is off the screen I can't fit the window. Game over.
In addition, the interface is extremely unintuitive and the Help not very helpful, and the program seems awfully sluggish.
All that said, it's a great idea, looks like it's pretty powerful if and when it works, and the price is right.

OK, I couldn't remove my earlier review, and the comment I posted is not visible enough, so I am posting this amended review of the Splendid City Pro software.
Splendid City will score match play! I was not specific enough in my earlier comments...what I was looking for is the ability to score individual games within a match-play format. If you are willing to score a match as 2 games to 1, it is easily done. If you want (as I do) to score the match as 15-13, 12-15, 15-10, then this has yet to be incorporated into Splendid City. However...and this is a big "however", Michael, the SC developer has personally talked this over with me and has assured me that he will look into the possibility of developing this feature. He sounded very positive that he could do it. We also talked over some ideas for improving the look of our league website...an upgrade for my earlier review about support/documentation. The developer is definitely willing to work with you, and the product (Splendid City Pro) is worth buying.

This software works very well for certain sports. I own the pro version, but I wanted it for a volleyball league which requires match scoring, i.e. any sport with match play, like tennis or volleyball which requires a "best of three or five" game sequence for a win, cannot be scored properly. The scoring is only for sports which require one game per win. This is a feature which seems quite important for a sports scheduler/standings program...even for a tournament with a "best of seven" final. Also, publishing and import/export is a bit difficult unless you are publishing to a website.

This is undoubtably the best sports scheduling software package. I HAD been evaluating some of the others out there with much higher sticker prices, but none of them had the capabilities of Splendid City and were quite frustrating to use.
In addition, this is the only one that runs natively on the Mac and doesn't require Winblows.
